Money Saving Strategies for Back-to-School Supplies

Remember when finding comfort school meant purchasing a few notebooks, a brand new box of crayons, and new shoes? In case you wore a uniform university, you almost certainly got one of those too; or even, you’ve got one or two new outfits. Which was it.


Well, times have changed. The production list now contains items that used to be furnished by the faculties – like scissors, glue and tissues. Every child needs a new backpack, notebooks, paper, pens (red, blue and black), glue sticks, ruler, tape, scissors, markers, folders and a calculator. For those who have two children and you shop the sales, you can still end up coughing up greater than $100.00 in supplies alone. Knowning that doesn’t even count the modern clothes your child “has to have” or fees which might be essential for art projects, lab costs, etc.

Don’t even get me started on the supplies, including furniture and appliances, your kids needs for school. Does it ever end?

Here are some tips to save money on oil painting set this season.

1) Recycle – Check to see that which you currently have in your own home. You almost certainly have assorted crayons, markers, colored pencils, etc. available your house. Put these together within a pencil box and will help save a couple of dollars.

2) Re-use – Kids think that last year’s backpack has to go, but a quick trip over the washer might give it new life.

3) Reduce – Does your son or daughter have a notebook from a year ago containing three pages of written material within it and 77 blank pages left? Do you find this notebook in the trash can – or worse – the garbage? Now is fun to discuss waste and keeping it as small as possible by permitting the most use possible of the many item.
