The Properties And Advantages of Argan Oil

There are so many different lotions and potions open to maintain nice hair and skin these days it’s hard to select the right one. If you take a trip to your local drugstore, you may be greeted by row after row of shelves brimming with various products, all promising to operate wonders and make miracles. I think the only real strategy for finding out which products are right for you is usually to experiment and attempt on your own. Certainly one of my favourites that I’ve been using for a while might be argan oil.

Sometimes known as ‘liquid gold’, it is just a natural product, purchased from the kernels with the argan tree that’s indigenous to Morocco. It is used as a moisturiser plus in products to care for flowing hair. It’s because the fact the oil has a high nutrient content and it is full of essential fatty acids, anti-oxidants and e vitamin which can be vital for healthy skin and hair. Additionally it is renowned to make hair soft, silky and shiny and to make frizzy hair more manageable. Other reported advantages of argan oil for hair are the promotion of healthy hair growth, prevention of scalp dryness and itching as well as the restoration of dry and damaged hair. As a non-greasy, easily absorbed oil it’s used as a skin moisturiser which could benefit dried-out skin specifically. It is usually known for it’s anti-ageing properties and lots of advocates of argan oil have stated the way has helped their skin conditions for example acne and eczema. Personally i have tried argan aceite to help treat dry skin on my joints plus it worked very well personally and left my skin beautifully soft and smooth without irritation.

As a result of it’s beneficial properties, celebrities including Jennifer aniston, Charlize Theron, Kylie Minogue, Madonna and Taylor Swift are users of argan oil to assist take care of their hair and skin. It’s even start to show up in mascara formulas because it is claimed it will help to generate your lashes longer and more lustrous. My hair is very dry and possesses a wiry texture (it almost feels as though fine fishing line) and also the oil in it’s pure form helps add moisture and softness to my hair. If you are lucky enough to have naturally soft hair, argan oil is a nice completion to provide extra gloss and shine.

Although finding shampoos, conditioners, hair-styling products and skincare products containing argan oil is straightforward, due to the oil’s rarity they come in a relatively high price. As I discussed earlier, the oil is extracted from the argan tree that is found in southern Morocco. The original way of extracting the oil would have been to collect argan fruit, dry it, extract the nuts, crack them to reveal the kernels then to crush them to release their oil. The method was completed manually and took fifteen hours of labour and thirty two kilograms of fruit to generate just one litre of oil! Currently the kernels are mechanically cold pressed (heat damages the oil’s chemical properties). The tree is rare, extracting the oil is labour intensive… therefore, the high price. However, the good news is just a little oil goes further.

The scarcity of the argan tree is when the problem lies. There are so many products available on the market now that contain argan oil or are marketed as ‘argan oil’ or ‘Moroccan oil’. But if you examine the label, you can find often other ingredients (for example silicon) in larger quantities compared to actual argan oil. Cosmetic companies need to strive to ensure the provision of argan oil is sustainable and of an exceptional, untainted by other oils or substances.

How do we know you are receiving the real deal? If you’re getting a product containing argan oil – confirm the ingredients. Check for ‘argania spinosa kernel oil’, it ought to be up high the components list and ideally, the product or service should contain as few ingredients as you can. Greater ingredients which the oil is mixed with, the less effective the oil will be. If you are buying pure argan oil, ensure it is in a dark coloured bottle as the light passing through a clear bottle can stop working the oil’s chemical properties. Some items that are marketed as argan oil also contain a carrier oil like olive or sunflower oil. Be conscious of the purchase price you happen to be paying. Argan oil doesn’t need to be very expensive but at the same time, it is just a rare oil that is certainly labour intensive to make and thus isn’t usually sold with a ‘giveaway’ price. The very best argan oil product simply the most expensive bear in mind the phrase, ‘you get that which you pay for’.
