Do You Have A Smartphone Addiction?

Some days it appears as if the world is enslaved by their smartphones!

You can not walk one city block without encountering someone, and more often lots of people, wanting to text and walk, usually badly.


Despite mass awareness, legislative change and police clamp downs you can not commute home without passing people who have their phones inside their hand. They are prepared to risk their lives, other people’s lives and at a minimum the exact property damage of an accident as opposed to put the smartphone away.

Check out any busy restaurant and you will view a number of individuals on their devices and much more people who have their devices sitting just waiting to get found in the hint of your email, text or call! Don’t they will need to talk with their fellow diners?

Visit the average work meeting and enquire of people to switch off their cell phones and will also be met with awe and dismay. Too frequently you will spot meeting “participants” on their device, addressing “important” emails or more likely texting another meeting “participant” as an alternative to starting the meeting.

When did we all become so important that people cannot be “offline” for a couple of hours?

Just as one cell phones and relationships statistics, the smartphone is particularly dangerous because just pander to the need to be in contact with our friends 24/7 but it also provides us throttle 24/7. We want never again have to wait minutes to know this news, or even a sports score… our smartphone delivers it to all of us And in many cases tells us when they get it!

None of this is rational.

When we made rational decisions you have to would schedule time for it to check our email, since it fits in with your work.

We would keep in touch with friends, but periodically at lunch or maybe in an afternoon break.

We might not need to learn about this news “as it happens” because we’d be devoted to the job taking place, which most days of the week is our obligation.

In meetings we’d put the thing away, provide constructive input to the meeting and address everything else following the meeting.

We would employ hands-free technology in your cars to dicuss while driving. However our eyes would be traveling and our hands guiding the automobile… not texting our friends.

A rational choice would be to drive our day, to get as productive as you can and to utilize smartphone being a tool.

Instead… we let our smartphones interrupt our lives, impact our productivity, hurt our relationships and maybe kill us, and others, once we clarify.
