How weddings have changed within the decades! From your handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight wedding ceremony members; a fairly easy wedding car to expensive and large wedding cars; three course meals to six course meals; one-three live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
Speaking of the latter, wedding speeches remain a fundamental part of being married and guests do anticipate hearing them, referring to them before, during and indeed after they’ve been delivered.
We know of wedding speeches delivered prior to the meal, during the meal and after the meal, however it is of an strong opinion that this groom speech should be delivered following the meal. I understand that for a lot of bridal party speakers i.e. Father of the Bride Speech, Father of the Groom Speech, Bride Speech, Groom Speech and Bestman Speech (the five main speakers), they would want to hold the wedding speeches before the meal, so they can enjoy their meal (a lot of them are spending money for it!). However, it’s all about the invited guests and just how many (and even the wedding venue staff) would prefer the wedding speeches to become delivered after the meal for a lot of reasons, many of which include:
The invited guests have already been fed and watered and are not listening to wedding speeches on an empty stomach (at least of food, which may be so before the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival in the wedding venue)
Food can be cooked and served in the agreed time (introduce the wedding ceremony speeches prior to meal and their is actually a delay of Quarter-hour one.5 hours, driving your home staff crazy continuing to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
Wedding ceremony speeches act as the transition from the meal on the dancing (broke happening following your meal, people are expecting ‘a few words’ to become shared concerning the Bride & Groom after which it they know they can get up, move about, come out, take a stroll, navigate to the bar…)
It can be difficult for moms and dads with the Bride & Groom to communicate in public places, as most of them may not be used than it. So, they may, if they so wished, speak prior to the / their meal.
There should still be some type of formal speech(es) as soon as the meal…
