How weddings have changed over the decades! From your handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight marriage ceremony members; a simple wedding car to expensive and enormous wedding cars; three course meals to course meals; one to three live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
Speaking of the latter, wedding speeches are still an important part of being married and guests do look ahead to hearing them, referring to them before, during as wll as after they’ve been delivered.
We have all heard of wedding speeches delivered prior to meal, in the meal after the meal, yet it’s of your strong opinion that the father of the groom speech should be delivered as soon as the meal. I am aware that for a lot of bridal party speakers i.e. Father in the Bride Speech, Father in the Groom Speech, Bride Speech, Groom Speech and Bestman Speech (the 5 main speakers), they will prefer to have the wedding speeches ahead of the meal, so they can enjoy their meal (many of them are spending money for it!). However, it’s all about the invited guests and how many (as well as wedding ceremony venue staff) would prefer the wedding ceremony speeches to become delivered following your meal for most reasons, a few of which include:
The invited guests have already been fed and watered and aren’t listening to wedding speeches before eating anything (at least of food, which would be before the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival with the wedding venue)
Food may be cooked and served on the agreed time (introduce the wedding speeches before the meal in addition to their might be a delay of Quarter-hour one.5 hours, driving your home staff crazy attempting to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The wedding ceremony speeches act as the transition from the meal to the dancing (broke and alone happening as soon as the meal, people are expecting ‘a few words’ being shared concerning the Bride & Groom after which they do know they are able to get up, move, have a break, take a stroll, go to the bar…)
It’s not easy for folks from the Bride & Groom to communicate in public places, the majority of them wouldn’t be used of computer. So, they might, when they so wished, speak prior to / their meal.
There should always be some type of formal wedding speech(es) after the meal…
