Bizarrely when I opened Udo Andre’s answer from notifications, I didn’t make obvious sexual connection until about para 5 !
I’m guessing it’s as there is a very old and overweight heavy draught horse, known as Magic, within a field a couple of miles away from us. We’d feed him the odd apple or carrot after we saw him. He was notoriously grumpy and kept his distance from the locked access gate.
Whenever we first took our eldest and emotionally damaged ‘granddaughter’, there were the gravest misgivings as he walked straight away to her and eat from her hand.
His owner first saw her feeding him and, although worried, (with great care), allowed her to penetrate his field. But he stood stock still and permit her to groom him together with her hands. She eventually gave him a major spread arms hug and stayed that way for ages. The master was incredulous as Magic was a rescue and has an incredibly bad temper having broken her arm and bitten her more than once! He’s a big horse. He towers above her which has a girth that belies belief. My granddaughter is just 5ft 2in, he’s Much taller, with a back which is as wide being an armchair!
Four years later, whenever she travels to see him, he literally gallopes over to her, seemingly making the bottom shake, and waits whilst she gives him huge hugs (well she spreads her arms wide apart attempting to cuddle him round his neck however they don’t even go halfway round), and then scratches him across so far as she will reach; since then we’ve been back many times to speak and cuddle him.
He never moves until she says goodbye and kisses his nose. She says she just thinks lovely thoughts about them and “knows he understands”. That’s intercourse having a horse in the real sense.
Regarding sexual intercourse between horses and humans. If I remember correctly, it apparently was a good crowd pleaser in the later Roman Games, I wasn’t around in those heady days but read “Those Going to Die” by Daniel Mannix . Prostitutes or any other woman criminals were strapped to a wood horse’s rear end along with the stallion let into enjoy himself. How long over survived was the subject of intense betting. Their gambling was well organised and efficient. It had been much more of an attraction than “water boarding”, the place where a woman was force feed water with the gallon a board placed across her stomach to transport brave men until she burst open. Gambling has lost a great deal of followers since those heady days !!!
