A Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA), certification will give you a head start. It is the base certification for Enterprise Wi-Fi within the CWNP family of certifications and a springboard toward earning your security, design, analysis and network expert certifications.
Do you have an understanding of the fundamentals of wireless technology? Are you familiar with WLAN and how it is managed every day? Are you able to set up, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain wireless networks in small businesses or Enterprises?
As the demand for wireless continues to grow, so does the need for certified network administrators.
What it takes to become a CWNA:
The CWNA certification, which is a foundational wireless LAN certification, is required for the CWNP program. You must pass the CWNA exam at a Pearson Vue Testing Center to earn a CWNA certificate. Instructors must score at least 80%. However you choose to prepare for the CWNA exam, you should start with the exam objectives, which cover the full list of skills tested on the exam.
The CWNA certification is valid for three (3) years. Pass one of the professional certification exams (CWSP/CWDP/CWAP) to recertify your CWNA. By doing so, the CWNA will be renewed for another three (3) years. You can also retake the current CWNA exam.
While the Certified Wireless Specialist (CWS) and Certified Wireless Technician (CWT) certifications are not a required prerequisite to the CWNA certification, it is highly recommended. It will provide a solid learning foundation before continuing to pursue the CWNA.
