Although statistics indicate that fewer people go out to television, as well as the ones that do go rarely see all the movies nominated for the Academy Awards, the broadcast of these awards is actually has always one of many largest audiences, with this country, but worldwide. Invariably, the show is just too long, somewhat boring typically, with little theatrical value. This year’s awards were no exception.
Actually, unlike some years, there was really hardly any suspense about the winners. Almost all that won any category were widely predicted, and the speeches were too long. The work for balance developing a “younger hipper” set of hosts, and the first co-ed pairing onstage simultaneously, did little to further improve the show’s viewability. Both hosts looked like pleasant enough people, but seemed clumsy and often uncomfortable on this setting.
The pre-Awards show, which they describe as the Red Carpet, was simply interesting to someone who wants to gaze upon the outfits warn with the celebrities. The inane interviews predominantly asked the same question about who designed the gowns, and added nothing for the viewer’s experience apart from a way show.
I used to be very grateful that my lady finally even had an ample amount of the show, and “permitted” me to look at most of the second half with the N.B.A. game involving the Miami Heat and Ny Knicks. Fortunately, that it was to be a thrilling and fairly well played game, regardless of whether in today’s professional sports world, as it turns out to be about one teams millionaire superstars in comparison to the others. And, to get a lifelong Knick fan, it was fun to look at the Knickerbockers be marked down to Miami and defeat the heralded Heat team!
Of course, the minute the basketball game was over, I was forced to alter the channel time for the Oscars 2017 live, to pass through greater than yet another hour of tedium. So, exactly why are the Oscars quite popular? After giving it some thought, I really believe it’s usually because it is the ultimate kind of escapism, the certainty show to “end” all reality shows! Some look at the show as fans with the stars, some to view the expensive clothes worn, some to root for some form of “wardrobe malfunction,” plus some to merely have the ability to discuss the show of their office at the water cooler the following day.
We must not be surprised how the Oscars broadcast is indeed popular. After all, reality shows for example American Idol, Survivor, The Bachelor, game shows, etc., invariably wind up presents itself the viewer ratings. I guess we could look at the Oscars a kind of non combat sport, although in Hollywood there’s often plenty of “contact” and certainly melodrama.
I could not understand why the Oscars are so popular, nevertheless it is apparently an international phenomena. The glamor, or living vicariously, or hero worship, or maybe plain little else to perform, leads to get this to popularity possible!
